Criteria

For your completed game, we're looking for a game that someone will actually want to use - with a great mix of features and design.

FAQs

How does it work?

EXCODE is a six week course where any Exeter students who have successfully applied learn all the basics of creating an app, in the form of a game. The course teaches the simple programming language Python, which is ideal for first time coders. Weeks 1-3 are dedicated to learning Python, weeks 4-5 are dedicated to developing the game and week 6 is dedicated to teams presenting their completed game.

What skills do I need?

The course is open to any university student, however preferably the student will have had some programming experience before. This could be through one of our past workshops or though doing some exercises on a site such as: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/python.

Who can apply?

If you're over 18 and a student you're set.

Is it free?

Just yourself - and a laptop.

The course runs weekly on Tuesdays at 18:00-19:30 from 14 February-21 March.
